With these simple step-by-step instructions, we can show you how to repair your chipped sink so it is looking brand new.
What You Need
- Epoxy Repair Kit – Epoxy can often come in multiple colours, choose the one(s) that are most appropriate
- Wet-Dry Sandpaper
- Small Brush
Step One: Mix the epoxy to match the colour of the enamel on the sink.
Step Two: Scrub the chipped area thoroughly with soapy water.
Step Three: Rub the sandpaper over the chipped area to get rid of rust and dirt. This will also rough up the chip to make sure the epoxy sticks better to it.
Step Four: Use the small brush to paint in the chip. Depending on how deep the chip is, you may have to do multiple coats.
Wait at least 24 hours to use the sink to be on the safe side and make sure not to scrub the area for 7 days.
If the damage done is too great for you to repair, you may be looking into replacing it. Any experienced technician should be able to advise you on an appropriate sink for your family home.
