Gas connections
Have you switched to natural gas? You should. Gas is a cost-effective, efficient and reliable way to cook, stay warm and heat your hot water. Sydney’s gas network is very reliable and it continues to operate even in a blackout.
While gas might have a dangerous reputation from Hollywood, it’s actually very safe when installed by an experienced gas fitter, maintained and used correctly.
If you don’t have gas in your street, connecting up an LPG storage system is an alternative.
Gas appliance installations
Most approved gas appliances clearly have a sticker on them warning that their product should only be installed by a licensed gas fitter. Using unlicensed people will void the products warranty and some home insurance policies.
We frequently install gas cooktops, gas dryers, outdoor kitchens, continuous flow gas hot water systems and ducted gas heaters that involve multiple trades in their installation. Being plumbers, gasfitters and electricians we are uniquely placed to do this kind of installation work.

Gas leak detection
Being a pressurised distribution system, it is important that gas leaks are found and repaired as soon as possible.
Part of the reason Sydney’s gas network is so reliable is the smell. When extracted, natural gas is odourless, so mercaptan is added to the mix to give it a strong distinctive smell. Most people describe the pungent sulphury smell as being similar to rotten eggs. Though it has a strong smell, finding small gas leaks can be tricky.
Flammability risks aside, it is important to get gas leaks fixed as it can cause headaches, nausea and other health concerns. We use a range of methods including hand tools, bubble sprays and electronic leak detectors.

Edit: Mitchell arrived and was very friendly and helpful.Very friendly but weird booking process. Booked online, described problems, opted for afternoon visit. Got a call back quickly which was nice, asked to describe problem. Already did that online. Told to expect plumber at... 9am (which is fine, not the afternoon though), I'm regularly up late so thought I'd sleep until then. Missed "courtesy" calls as phone on silent, they were trying to confirm I'm around. Thus job was delayed til later today. I was already told 9am so yes I am around. Andrew and Adam from Omega Plumbing and Home Services did an excellent job in renewing my Sewerage and complete drainage system of my old home in Winston Hills. Matt and Jarred initially did the investigation and provided very courteous and professional service. Mat was very... friendly and explained all that was happening with the pipeline expected to be done in the 1970s. A mixed review. Very happy with initial response and quote. Was told two workers would be back to drain and remove old water heater. Ben arrived on his own. He was polite and efficient but it was not fair on him or us as my husband had to help him remove the heater which was... extremely heavy and awkward. The heater would not have been removed if my husband hadn't helped. We did pay for this so shouldn't have had to help. On a brighter note, both William and Jarden arrived to install the new heater. My parents have had a few jobs completed by Omega over the years. They always rave about the staff & the great tradies they have. My husband decided to give them a go recently for a plumbing issue we had. He called, they came out the same day & gave us a price to complete the... repair. First Adam arrived promptly and strongly encouraged me to watch him jet the sewer line so I could understand any problems as to why sewerage overflowed outside and my house flooded with bath water. Understandably I was extremely anxious and upset with houseful of guests and... toilets not working properly and the prospect of major work to pipes. From the moment I called Omega Home Services, Ryan was the first to come out, our water heater was leaking. Of course it has to be replaced. Being the long weekend, Ryan left his number in case water heater broke down further, and Ryan said Omega would put in a temporary water... heater, well the heater broke down that same afternoon a temporary heater was installed.The service was prompt and efficient. Nelson from Omega Services came and installed a brand new hot water system for us last week. The water heater delivered the first time was found to be faulty. Nelson and his colleague immediately got in touch with the company and quickly arranged for its replacement. The new one... was delivered right next day. In the meantime, to make sure that we did not have to suffer a 24-hour waiting period without hot water running in the house during winter time, Nelson and his colleague installed us a temporary hot-water system. Then, Nelson returned the next day and installed the new system for us straight away, and also gave us some good tips on how to use and maintain the new system.
