Heat Pump Hot Water Heaters
Heat pump systems work similarly to an electric hot water storage unit, in that they hold a large amount of water, and keep that water hot. There is a slight difference however, this difference is that instead of primarily relying on an element to heat the water, they work like a reverse fridge. This heating process makes them up to three times more energy-efficient than storage units.
How do heat pump water heaters work?
Heat pumps integrate the latest hot water technology available. It extracts heat from the surrounding air and heats your water with it, they work well in Sydney and don’t require direct sunlight.

Edit: Mitchell arrived and was very friendly and helpful.Very friendly but weird booking process. Booked online, described problems, opted for afternoon visit. Got a call back quickly which was nice, asked to describe problem. Already did that online. Told to expect plumber at... 9am (which is fine, not the afternoon though), I'm regularly up late so thought I'd sleep until then. Missed "courtesy" calls as phone on silent, they were trying to confirm I'm around. Thus job was delayed til later today. I was already told 9am so yes I am around. Andrew and Adam from Omega Plumbing and Home Services did an excellent job in renewing my Sewerage and complete drainage system of my old home in Winston Hills. Matt and Jarred initially did the investigation and provided very courteous and professional service. He was polite and efficient but it was not fair on him or us as my husband had to help him remove the heater which was... extremely heavy and awkward. First Adam arrived promptly and strongly encouraged me to watch him jet the sewer line so I could understand any problems as to why sewerage overflowed outside and my house flooded with bath water. Understandably I was extremely anxious and upset with houseful of guests and... toilets not working properly and the prospect of major work to pipes. From the moment I called Omega Home Services, Ryan was the first to come out, our water heater was leaking. Of course it has to be replaced. Being the long weekend, Ryan left his number in case water heater broke down further, and Ryan said Omega would put in a temporary water... heater, well the heater broke down that same afternoon a temporary heater was installed.The service was prompt and efficient. Nelson from Omega Services came and installed a brand new hot water system for us last week. The water heater delivered the first time was found to be faulty. Nelson and his colleague immediately got in touch with the company and quickly arranged for its replacement. The new one... was delivered right next day. In the meantime, to make sure that we did not have to suffer a 24-hour waiting period without hot water running in the house during winter time, Nelson and his colleague installed us a temporary hot-water system. Then, Nelson returned the next day and installed the new system for us straight away, and also gave us some good tips on how to use and maintain the new system. In a lot of cases, hot water tanks that don’t produce hot water have a faulty thermometer. Our technicians can asses the problem for you and carry out repairs if necessary.
First, check to make sure nobody has adjusted your thermostat. If your thermostat looks as though it’s set at a lower temperature than usual, readjust it and see what happens.
If you notice a dip in hot water levels during the winter, try increasing your thermostat temperature. Some hot water systems need to work harder to fight against the cold outside.
