Heat Pumps, Gas & Electric Storage System Maintenance
All types of hot water systems require some form of maintenance every once in a while to maintain effectiveness and longevity.
We recommend checking the temperature and pressure relief valve (TPR) every 6 months or with every plumbing maintenance visit. While such a procedure is possible to perform yourself, by pulling on the small lever on the side of your unit. If water comes out, you’re good! If it doesn’t, this is classified as an emergency. If pressure isn’t able to be released from this valve, you run the risk of the machine not knowing when the pressure has reached a critical level, and the pressure seeking other methods of release and will result in catastrophic and costly damage.

Lovely lady took my call, technician was on time & job went as planned. Getting a price for the job up front & knowing it... won’t change is awesome. We called Omega Services to come out and check out our broken kitchen tap having used their services in the past for other plumbing work. Edit: Mitchell arrived and was very friendly and helpful.Very friendly but weird booking process. Booked online, described problems, opted for afternoon visit. Got a call back quickly which was nice, asked to describe problem. Already did that online. Told to expect plumber at... 9am (which is fine, not the afternoon though), I'm regularly up late so thought I'd sleep until then. Missed "courtesy" calls as phone on silent, they were trying to confirm I'm around. Thus job was delayed til later today. I was already told 9am so yes I am around. It's fine but advance warning of this process would have been nice and I appreciate why confirming I'm around is important but it's a courtesy for Omega not for me.Judging by others reviews I'm confident the job will be well done whenever it gets done today.read more

Andrew and Adam from Omega Plumbing and Home Services did an excellent job in renewing my Sewerage and complete drainage system of my old home in Winston Hills. Matt and Jarred initially did the investigation and provided very courteous and professional service. Mat was very... friendly and explained all that was happening with the pipeline expected to be done in the 1970s. Andrew was very sincere, diligent in his work and most importantly was spot on, in terms of communicating the plans for the day, and what was getting done when. A mixed review. Very happy with initial response and quote. Was told two workers would be back to drain and remove old water heater. Ben arrived on his own. He was polite and efficient but it was not fair on him or us as my husband had to help him remove the heater which was... extremely heavy and awkward. The heater would not have been removed if my husband hadn't helped. We did pay for this so shouldn't have had to help. On a brighter note, both William and Jarden arrived to install the new heater. Both were very friendly and efficient and the job was successfully completed. My parents have had a few jobs completed by Omega over the years. They always rave about the staff & the great tradies they have. My husband decided to give them a go recently for a plumbing issue we had. He called, they came out the same day & gave us a price to complete the... repair. The next day a team arrived, on time I will add, & completed the work. My husband arrived home & had a few questions about the work he wasn’t sure about so he called the Omega. First Adam arrived promptly and strongly encouraged me to watch him jet the sewer line so I could understand any problems as to why sewerage overflowed outside and my house flooded with bath water. Understandably I was extremely anxious and upset with houseful of guests and... toilets not working properly and the prospect of major work to pipes. From the moment I called Omega Home Services, Ryan was the first to come out, our water heater was leaking. Of course it has to be replaced. Being the long weekend, Ryan left his number in case water heater broke down further, and Ryan said Omega would put in a temporary water... heater, well the heater broke down that same afternoon a temporary heater was installed.The service was prompt and efficient. Nelson from Omega Services came and installed a brand new hot water system for us last week. The water heater delivered the first time was found to be faulty. Nelson and his colleague immediately got in touch with the company and quickly arranged for its replacement. The new one... was delivered right next day. In the meantime, to make sure that we did not have to suffer a 24-hour waiting period without hot water running in the house during winter time, Nelson and his colleague installed us a temporary hot-water system. Then, Nelson returned the next day and installed the new system for us straight away, and also gave us some good tips on how to use and maintain the new system. In a lot of cases, hot water tanks that don’t produce hot water have a faulty thermometer. Our technicians can asses the problem for you and carry out repairs if necessary.
First, check to make sure nobody has adjusted your thermostat. If your thermostat looks as though it’s set at a lower temperature than usual, readjust it and see what happens.
If you notice a dip in hot water levels during the winter, try increasing your thermostat temperature. Some hot water systems need to work harder to fight against the cold outside.
