We just have a quick safety message for all of our customers. Did you know that your switchboard panels and meter boards may contain asbestos?
Over the last few weeks, we have noticed a reoccurring pattern in switchboards that were built or imported before 2004 containing a large amount of asbestos.
The older the switchboard or its surroundings the more chance there is that it contains asbestos. Most switchboards installed before 1990 are very likely to contain asbestos.
It is not possible to tell if something contains asbestos just by looking at it (unless it is labelled or the brand names are in place).
If your switchboard is older than 13 years, it could be creating a danger within your home.
